2011: Matthias relocated to the USA permanent in Sept 2011.
Currently he is located in Los Angeles, CA and is working with one of the greatest female heavy metal singers of all time and signed another Music Licensing Agreement with a Production Company/Music Library in Hollywood.

2010: Matthias played the "Monsterfest 2010" in Merced, CA (USA) as a lead-guitarplayer with Sacramentos "Twitch Angry" (Punk/Metal, Dirtbag Records)
on Oct. 2nd 2010 and a follow-up gig at the "Star Club" in Merced, including some Demo recordings and arranging/songrwriting/mixing.
2010: Matthias signed a Music Licensing Agreement with a Production Company/Music Library in the U.S.A.
With clients such as the 'Discovery Channel' (part of the internal music catalog),
'MTV Network', 'A&E Network' and film credits in movies such as 'American Gangster' and 'The Bourne Ultimatium'.

2009-March: Re-release of the remastered double CD "SYRIA: 'yesterday with logical visitors - best of 1993-2000".
It contains 7 songs where Matthias was involved in as a songwriter/guitar player/bass player/producer/arranger/programmer.

2008-Febuary: SYRIA 'Not A Nice Party. A Collection' (4-CD-BOX) is released - on Feb. 4th.
It contains 15 songs where Matthias was involved in as a songwriter/guitar player/bass player/producer/arranger/programmer,
new recorded guitars and a new composition "A. Lincoln, Simulacrum" (music only) for th 10th Syria Studio-Album "The Grotesque" which is part of the Box.
2008-Febuary: Matthias founds the Jazz/Fusion Ensemble "The Jazzubis".
It consists of some of the top students of the municipal music school where he's teaching part time.

2007-March: Matthias played a benefit concert as a trio w/bass & drums.
2007-July: The german translation of the lyrics of "JUST ANOTHER DAY - IT'S JUST ANOTHER NIGHT" is in progress,
as well as the "... DIRT" project - besides writing other songs & instrumentals.
Matthias started working on a mixed solo-acoustic live-set - to go on the road/showcase -
but mainly focusing on new songwriting/recording and checking notes and ideas.
2007-September: Matthias colaborated with Christian Doerge (SYRIA) for a new song called 'A. Lincoln, Simulacrum' for the
10th (and last) SYRIA Album 'The Grotesque'.
Matthias wrote the music, played and prgrammed all instruments, sang the demo-vocals and produced the song.
This Album will be part of a 4-CD-BOX called 'Not A Nice Party. A Collection'. Release: Jan./Feb. 2008.
He also played new guitar tracks for 'Sculptures, Fruits And Tea Partys, part 1 (2007 remix)' , also part of the 4-CD-BOX.

2006: The Demo-Sessions for the new concept started in autumn of 2004 called "JUST ANOTHER DAY - IT'S JUST ANOTHER NIGHT" are finished...

2005-Dec.: Matthias spent the last months on writing new material, mainly working on a concept consisting of 2 pieces -
with currently 23 new compositions.

2004-Jan.: New songs (as always: hear 'em first in the live -set), new Live-Set and Live-Activities for GASOLINE.
"Hatred" currently stripped down to a studio/songwriting project.
2004-May/June: Like last year, GASOLINE was on the stand-by-list for the NXNE-Festival in Toronto, Canada and is playing an one and an half hour concert at the "Hessentag" 2004 in Heppenheim, Germany (big county fair). Matthias was invited for an audition for a musical and is going back to do more songwriting and recording (not only in the Gasoline background) which has been put too much on the side over the last month, although some songs made it to the
GASOLINE live-sets - and there are more to come during upcoming selected gigs.
2004-Sept./Nov.: Matthias split up the 6-piece electric band and is back on heavy songwriting - a.o. creating a concept in 2 pieces
(each around 7 - 10 compositions) with a wide dynamic range.

The MMS is also collaborating with the ACM (Academy Of Contemporary Music) in London and the LAMA (Los Angeles Music Academy). It is possible to study the 1st year of the 2 year Bachelor Of Performing Arts Degree program of the ACM at the MMS (Degree in Contemp. Popular Music is validated by Middlesex University, England).

Since the beginning of 2003 Matthias is a member of RockCity Hamburg, Germany.
In May 2003 GASOLINE was on the stand-by-list for the NXNE-Festival in Toronto, Canada.

July 2003: Nomination with GASOLINE for the German Rock & Pop Contest 2003 -
category Rock contest 2003 with the composition "Drifter" in Hamburg (Congress Centrum) in November - before that the pre-contest for county Hessen:
LIVE in Rodgau (Frankfurt), Sept. 27th, 2003 - followed by 2 more nominations for Composition with "I Built My Life Around Rock n' Roll" and Songprice with "Walkin' " in September 2003. A 4th nomination for Matthias in the category Hard & Heavy with the Thrash~Punk~Metal band HATRED - "Thrash - Straight Forward In Your Face" !

For further promotion etc. Matthias recorded a few at present time important compositions (in acoustic and electric arrangement) during June 2002.
August 2002: again a nomination in 2 categories for the German Rock & Pop Contest 2002 which was held at the Congress Centrum in Hamburg/Germany, November 2002: Category "Composition" with the song SETTLE DOWN and category Hard & Heavy with the Guitar Instrumental WATCH IT BURN (Machine Monster), Part 2.

To concentrate completely on his songwriting, Matthias cancelled all other projects/(cover)bands by the beginning of 2001.
Again Matthias/Gasoline was nominated for the German Rock & Pop Contest 2001 in the category "Songprice Originals 2001".
"Westward Bound" was the song presented live to the jury on Oct. 27th in Wuerzburg/Congress Centrum.
Like last year, Matthias delivered the best song of each participating country to the Song Expo - Benelux Song & Culture Festival 2001: Westward Bound.

In the summer of 2000 Matthais was nominated for the German Rock Pop Contest in the category best guitar player (Catch Me If You Can, Part 1) and
"best lyrics" (Angel Of Spring). The song Waiting for The Summer entered the Song Expo - Benelux Song Culture Festival as the best entry of each participating country.
Two CDs, "A Gift From Culture" (album-CD) and "Voodoo Highway" (E.P.-CD) were released on Sounds Of Delight/SPV in Europe,
promoted with a club-tour throughout Germany.
A lot of unused songs and outtakes are left over out of this working period.
Further on he produced the first album-CD of the Iranian trance-techno project "Dachme" (in 1997)
and the goa-project "Illegal Experiment" (in 2001) and played all guitars/bassguitars.
In 1993 he decided to study at the Musicians Institute/GIT Hollywood, CA where he became familiar with other styles of music also, as well as the countryguitar picking technique. Matthias spent two years in the USA which should have a big impact on his music, his personality and also spiritual wise.
He continued recording his recent material consisting of instrumentals in different styles and a load of songs which created
the vision of "GASOLINE", his own project - which turned out as "Alternative C.o.u.n.t.r.y. / Roots R.O.C.K.". - to give it a name.

Matthias started playing the guitar in 1979 with three years of classical instructions. Through the influence of 60's, 70's and 80's popular music he gravitated to Blues and Rock/Metal Guitar stylings. Matthias spent the next couple of years in different bands and studio projects on the area circuit and started working on his songwriting during this time. His listening tastes broadened to a wide variety of popular music and Matthias sought diversity in his playing. Also the influence of several neoclassical guitar players became part of his guitar technique. Because of more harmonic possibilities and to expand his musical horizon
Matthias started digging deeper in the universe of jazz-harmony.

Throughout all these music and living experience his main goal first of all is to create songs which deal with real life and reality in any kind of way. The use of different imageries and living characters in his lyrics are undouptly a big part of his songwriting:
The creation of moving, visionary pictures in the listeners eyes with only one voice and one accompanying instrument, but then supported through his guitar technique within a proper arrangement, as well as for his instrumental compositions.
